Later, it added an option of Kid profiles, and now, after long delays and slow rollout, the feature is finally here for everyone.
According to the latest reports, now multiple Google TV users can access the profiles on their devices. The server-side update is now live by Google.
After Months of Waiting, Multi-User Support Is Finally Rolling Out
However, to use multiple profiles, users need to reboot or reinstall the app. If there is more than one user, you can customize the interface with your own watch lists. Based on your viewing, you will see recommendations for the content. With this, you can easily decide what to watch.
Once you reboot or reinstall the Google TV app, you will see a splash screen saying, “Introducing profiles on Google TV”. Also, an option for adding another google account.
Last year in October, Google TV announced the update. This new update allows to add up to 12 profiles on a single connected TV device. Also, the app downloads and login details will appear on all profiles except kids’ profiles.
In the last update of the app, users got an ambient mode screensaver with personalized information and recommendation cards. You can check the weather, news, sports scores, and more. Google TV app is all about recommendations and adding favorite content in one place.
The support for Profiles is now accessed by Chromecast users. So for non-Chromecast devices, the profile support is not yet out but soon will be available.
