iOS 16 Code Seems to Affirm “Always-On Display” for iPhone 14 Pro

Finally, Apple revealed iOS 16 during the global event, WWDC. Still, it only announced its main features and upgrades and released its beta version only for developers that suggested some code for iPhone 14 Pro.

Recently, Apple has also dropped the support for some iPhone that runs on Apple’s A10 chip, such as the iPhone 6s, iPhone 7 series, and first iPhone SE. Besides, iPod is also on the list due to its discontinuation.

iPhone 14 Pro’s Always-on Display Feature Spotted in iOS 16

Apple Would Introduce Always-On Display Mode in iPhone 14 Pro

As we learned from the earlier leaks, Apple is planning to make huge differences between the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro and non-pro models, which seem unfair now because of the new notch design.

Lately, Bloomberg’s reliable leaker Mark Gurman suggested that Apple is working on an Always-on display feature for iPhone 14 Pro models only. It will be integrated by the upcoming iOS 16.

Now, it seems valid because some code in the iOS 16 Beta version has been spotted related to this feature.

According to 9to5Mac, multiple references prove that iOS 16 includes support for an always-on display for the upcoming supported iPhone 14, while currently, only three new frameworks are noted.

These frameworks might work for backlight management, battery management, and refresh rate control because the “always-on display” feature exists in Apple Watches.

If you are unfamiliar with this “Always-on display,” it will show you some main functions while your iPhone display is in the backlight that’s why it refers to an always-on display.

And if you are worried about your iPhone battery, the ProMotion displays in the aim for ?iPhone 14 Pro? and ?iPhone 14 Pro? Max which will allow the capability of dropping refresh rate to as low as 1Hz.

That will save battery and take significantly less consumption, but the losing point here is that if it is coming, so only for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
