Vivo has launched its first foldable smartphone named ‘Vivo X Fold’ in china. At the event, the company also launched its two other flagships – Vivo X Note and Vivo Pad.
Recently, Vivo hinted about its first foldable flagship with the codename ‘butterflies’ but the company gave surprised with its unpredicted launch of the Vivo Pad because it said to be it will launch in the third quarter of 2022.
The new Vivo X Fold with amazing displays, and powerful camera hardware so it’s tough competition to other latest foldable smartphones like OPPO’s Fold N and Samsung’s foldable market champion Galaxy Z Fold 3.
Vivo X Fold: Specifications & Details
Vivo X Fold is currently only available in China and the company didn’t specify any details about when they will launch it in international markets but we can expect from Vivo shortly.
The Vivo X Fold has a 6.53-inch Full HD+ OLED display from the outside which is the cover display and the device unfolds display is an 8-inch 2K Samsung E5 LTPO UTG with ultra-thin glass. 120hz refresh rate is supported by both the cover display and the foldable panel.
The smartphone contains quad-cameras, a primary 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide lens with a 114-degree FOV, a 12MP telephoto lens, and a 5MP periscope camera. The front camera is 32MP punch-hole selfie snapper on the 8-inch foldable panel.
Vivo X Fold is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset that delivers flagship-grade performance. The processor is paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
The device includes a 4,600mAh battery with support for 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. Vivo enhanced the security of the device by leveraging Qualcomm’s new SPU unit and its first foldable to get an in-display fingerprint scanner with Qualcomm’s 3D Sonic technology.
Vivo X Fold’s price in china is CNY 8,999 (roughly 1400 USD) for a 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. You can also get it with double the storage for CNY 9,999 (roughly 1570 USD).
