WhatsApp’s Upcoming Message Reactions Could Support More Emoji

WhatsApp is working to support more emoji reactions. A new option has been added in the beta version that will let users add custom emoji reactions to the Message Reactions panel.

In August last year, Some lucky beta users noticed WhatsApp’s message reaction feature in beta releases for iOS and Android. Still, WhatsApp rolled out this reaction feature to all beta users last month, and now they are enhancing it.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp message reaction allows you to choose between 6 different emojis: Like, Love, Laugh, Suprised, Sad, and Thanks. But, Some users report that they want more emojis to use as reactions.

Another Meta-owned chat platform is getting a Message Reaction feature with some decent additions. The feature on Instagram and Messenger did not give users the option to add more emoji reactions on WhatsApp.

As you can see in the screenshot, an + plus sign icon on the Reaction panel suggests you can add more reactions in this tab. Unfortunately, the button doesn’t appear to work in the current beta release.

WhatsApp might allow this button to work soon in other beta updates, but there are no details about when it gets released to the main app and which new emojis set will be added. Besides, if we peek into Facebook Messenger and Instagram, it is possible to choose any emoji you want.

Probably WhatsApp will also let us choose any emoji as well. This feature of message reactions is under development and will get some additional changes in a future update of the app.

Recently, WhatsApp was also spotted working on another New Options To Chat With Unsaved Contacts.
