On Meta’s primary platforms, such as Instagram and Facebook, a verified account with a blue tick is finite because it has a strict verification method and requirements, but soon it will be monetary.

With its announcement, Mark also revealed the pricing of the service, and it’s different for mobile and desktop users.  For web users, it will cost $11.99 per month and $14.99 for iOS and Android users.

Besides, after buying this subscription users will also get some of the additional features, such as more visibility and reach on the platform and exclusive stickers for the stories and reels.

To get the blue tick on your account, you have to meet some requirements, such as you have to provide government ID documents to prove your identity and avoid impersonating people.

Also, your account username and name have to match the provided document, and your account must have a profile picture. Meta also announces add of more security and privacy on the platform.

According to the announcement, the company will start rolling it out this week, but in its initial stage, it will not be available for everyone as the company is launching it only for users in Australia and New Zealand.

And regarding expanding the subscription service, Mark said, “more countries soon,” in the announcement. Besides, this paid verification service is currently not available for businesses as it is only launched for individuals.
